Overview of the College
Being a student of fine arts means heightening your physical, intellectual and cultural awareness. UNLV’s fine arts program prepares students for professional careers by helping them hone and perfect their talents. A wide array of campus venues, including theatres, performance halls, studios and an architectural library, is available to students as they pursue their passions. Our artist-in-residence program brings pre-eminent creators to UNLV. It also brings them into the classroom.

College Highlights
The College of Fine Arts offers an average of 4.4 public performances and exhibitions per week during the academic year. These events vary from professional presentations such as the New York Philharmonic and American Ballet Theatre to concerts presented by faculty and students, lectures offered by distinguished artists/writers/critics such as Seamus Haney, exhibitions of student work in galleries and the UNLV Film Series.

Honors Program
The Honors College is essentially a college within a college. It provides advanced study for the most talented and motivated students, Enrollees can sign up for:

  • University Honors, an enriching program designed around general core requirements, or
  • Department Honors, a two-year program featuring a senior project specific to a major.

Both programs allow members to benefit from scholarships, small class sizes, lively study groups and a special kind of camaraderie.

Advising
Once you’ve enrolled in the College of Fine Arts, consult the College of Fine Arts Advising Center for advising as soon as possible. Advisors can help you chart the right course for your university education and provide important insight into career opportunities.
