ADVISING CENTER

The faculty and staff of the College of Fine Arts (CFA) would like to welcome you to UNLV. We would also like to encourage you to chart your academic progress during your course of studies here at UNLV by meeting with Dr. Robert Tracy, Director, CFA Advising Center and his staff of advisors. By taking a proactive stance with your academic program within the College of Fine Arts’ Advising Center, you will be able to save yourself both time and money.

First and second year students in Architecture, Art, Dance, Film, Music, and Theatre, and new transfer students are encouraged to meet with an advisor at the CFA Advising Center to assist in class scheduling, discuss academic career goals, chart academic progress toward the undergraduate degree, and discuss other concerns you might have as a major (or minor) in the College of Fine Arts. Students seeking to transfer credit should review the NSHE policies available for download at the The Executive Vice President and Provost's Office website: "Student Transfer Rights - Responsibilities for Students and Institutions - Students," and "Transfer Rights and Responsibilites for Students and Institutions."

As students advance past the second year in their respective disciplines, they must seek advising from the school or department of their major. Each area of study has different requirements, as well as recommendations for electives. Departmental links provided here are for reference, and do not substitute for meeting with a department advisor in the second or third year of study.
