"Art in Public Places" Lecture Series


In 2001 art professor Pasha Rafat introduced and administered “Art in Public Places” course at UNLV/Department of Art. This course was structured by placing site-specific temporary and permanent projects in the city, county and the university incorporating a collaborative process designed by UNLV senior students in art, architecture and engineering. Selections of the site projects were established through continuous dialogues with The County and the City’s Arts Commission. In addition, the Las Vegas Arts Commissioned created funding for bringing artists, designers, architects to UNLV and the community:
